Do I need a new Challenge?

As usual my cards today are based on sketch challenges.  I don't know if I need to challenge myself  NOT to use a sketch or if I just really need to accept that the sketches are working really well for me right now.

 

Anyway, my first card uses SplitCoastStampers sketch 458.

 

 Here is my take on the sketch.  I LOVE snow.  Here in the south we don't get snow, some flurries occasionally, but not real snowfall.  I miss it.  So, I love to use snowman whenever I can.  They make me happy, lol.

 

My next card uses Sweet Sunday Sketch 195.  I don't play along with this challenge as often, but I think I need to start.  It was a really fun sketch to use.

 

Here is what I created.  I used a sweet stamp from Unity Stamp Co.  I also used papers, flowers and a brad from my collections.  :)

A Spring card in the Fall :)

Good Morning! Yes, I know these are 'springy' colors, but when I looked at this image this morning it made me smile. I love Fluffles. This one is a stamp off someone gave me, so I tried to do well with it.

I started with a Bazzill Basics card base and added the striped paper from ProvoCraft. The image I colored with prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and then added some glitter to the bee wings and the flower centers. I sponged blue along the sky and green along the grass and then attached it to Bazzill Bling with a little piece of American Crafts ribbon tied underneath. I attached that to the card and then added dew drops :) Next I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts (one of their clear sets) and then added flowers from Imaginisce and Autumn Leaves. It was a really easy card to make.

Are you ready for Autumn?

Good Morning! Another autumn card this morning :) Have I told you lately how much I love fall/autumn??? The colors, the temperature, the coffee, flannel jammies and slippers :)

This morning's card is another one made because of a scrap I had sitting on my desk. The Basic Grey piece on the top was just sitting there begging to be used so I pulled out some other fall stuff and this card came to be. I started with Bazzill Basics orange cardstock for my card base, then added the BG piece and the bottom piece which is flocked stripes from Heidi Grace (last years fall collection). The stamp is from Stampendous and I colored the leaves with prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, then I sponged over the entire top of the image with Mellow Moss and edged it too. The craft piece is cut with my nesties and then I pierced the holes in each of the scallops. The glitter leaves are from MAMBI and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. The ribbon looks kind of funky in the picture but really it's a pretty green color and the "Welcome Fall" words are orange, but the whole thing is shimmery, that's why the colors are funky in the picture, sorry about that - it really does match though :)

Fall is in the air.....really this time :)

Good Morning! Really, fall is in the air. The wind is blowing like crazy here this morning and it's overcast, so it really looks like it's cold outside. It's not really, it's 60 degrees but just looking out my window it looks MUCH colder :) So, I'm posting a fall card (plus I just finished it last night :)

This card uses many scraps that I had laying on my table (actually right now I can't find anything but scraps on my table, but that's a whole other story :) Okay, the stamps and the embellies weren't scraps, but all the paper is and the ribbon was just sitting in front of me too.

I started with a prism cardstock base and I don't know the true color of it but it kind of looks like putty but it doesn't really match anything so I don't use it very often. I decided to cover the whole front up :)
The dp is all from Basic Grey's Mellow collection. I think Mellow is my favorite collection of theirs, I use it alot! The image with the mice and the leaf is from Stampendous, called Max & Friend. I colored them with prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and then added some glitter around the leaf. I cut them and the orange behind them with Quickutz flower cookie cutter dies and then inked the edges and poked holes in the scallops. The fabulous fall stamp is one of the small Stampology stamps from Autumn leaves that I got in the Hot Spot at Archivers. The gem leaf is from Me and My Big Ideas. I loved adding it :) The corners on the top are punched with the EKSuccess punch that I seem to use a ton and the ribbon is a silk ribbon that I don't know the manufacturer of, sorry.

I love fall colors, I think spring and fall are my favorite seasons. I can't choose between the two. Growing up in Louisiana we really didn't have spring and fall. It was HOT until winter and then it still didn't get all that cold. I love being here where we can experience all the seasons. I'm definitely thankful for them :)

I didn't get to stamp all day the other day when I told you I was going to try to, so maybe today....

Image Swapping

Good Morning! Well, my kids went off to their first day of school this morning. My son is a Junior and my daughter is a Freshman. Where has the time gone??? We had fun this morning over breakfast and now I just hope they have a great day! Me??? I just might stamp all day although I do have some ironing I SHOULD do :)

This card was made with an image that a friend sent to me, thanks Harriet :) I love Fluffles, but I only have a couple of their stamps so Harriet sent me some stamped images to use. This is one of them. Image swapping is a great way to try a new stamp company or add to your collection without buying EVERY stamp you fall in love with. Have you ever bought a stamp and then realized it wasn't exactly what you thought it was? With image swapping you might be able to find that out before actually purchasing the stamp. Anyway, this is the first time I had swapped images and I think it's pretty cool!

Onto the card. It's a 5" X 5" card. I wish I could tell you who made the patterned paper, but it was my last little piece of it and I had already used the part with the manufacturer, sorry! I colored my image with prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, and I used the quickutz 12" flower border to make the flowers in the corners, then I added dew drops to the insides of them. The image is cut with a Marvy scallop punch and gems added to the scallops as well as the flower centers. "Hello You" is a hero arts stamp and then I added pop dots to the image and added the ribbon under it. That's it :)
