Faux Grid Technique

Hi! Every Monday on SCS there is a technique challenge, I LOVE them! This week's challenge is to create a faux grid. When I first read the post, I wasn't sure about how it was going to work, but then I looked at a couple samples and knew exactly what I wanted to do. I love this month's Journaling set. I think partly because I love the beach and the colors associated with it. :)

So, here is my card. I will edit this post to put a link to the challenge, but right now I think SCS must be having some issues because I can't get onto it. Anyway, I stamped my images on the background first and then created the grid. Then I colored in a few of the squares and then added the suede ribbon and button tied with twine. I cut the sentiment out with nesties and pop dotted it over the ribbon. That's it! It's ALMOST a one layer card. Really fun!

Supplies:
Stamps: July Journaling Spot - 2RedBananas
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia, Sahara Sand Versamagic, chocolate Zig writer
Paper: reg white cardstock, Bazzill
Other: prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, pop dots, May Arts suede ribbon, button, twine, nesties

Our quote for the day: "Every achiever that I have ever met says, "My life turned around when I began to believe in me."" - Dr. Robert Schuller

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
