It's a Love an Unloved Stamp Day :)

Good Morning! Today is a Love an Unloved Stamp Day. I've had these stamps for about a year and they haven't seen ink until last night. I love them. I'm really into tree stamps right now and this one is just so sweet! So......

I started with Bazzill Basics both the brown and the salmony color. Then I used some dp from a MAMBI stack that I found at Michaels. I'm really beginning to like these 'stacks' especially for making cards. I inked the edges of all those pieces with chestnut roan chalk ink. I stamped my images (from Inkadinkado) in versafine black and colored the tree with copics and the flowers on the 'thinking of you' in glitter pens. I sponged around the tree with bliss blue and mellow moss and then did a little doodling too :) I cut the image and the scalloped green with my nesties and then added some ribbon and some dew drops (couldn't leave those out :) That's it. Easy, easy card!!

the first of many Thank Yous :)

Hi! I've got to get busy making thank you cards and this is the first one. My birthday was not too long ago and I've gotten lots of cards, from family and friends new and old. So now, I have a great reason to be making lots of cards! This one can kind of be considered loving an unloved stamp too, because I've had it for probably a year or so and this is the first time it's felt ink. I love the image though. It's a clear stamp from KI Memories. I stamped in Versafine sepia ink and then colored with copics. I didn't have the perfect colors to blend the flower petals the way I really wanted to, but I still like the way it came out. The striped paper on the right is from Imaginisce and the blue is Bazzill Bling embossed with a cuttlebug folder. The ribbon is a new one from American Crafts. The yellow paper under the image is from the Paper Company, metallic papaya. The thank you stamp is from Hero Arts. Of course there are hero arts gems on there too - gotta have some bling :)

Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge

Good Morning! In my excitement to share the cute little hippo with you yesterday, I forgot about the Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge. Sorry about that, but it's here today!

This card is probably one of the most brightly colored ones I've made, but it sure does look nice against the white snow that's falling outside of my window right now! The stamps I used are from Hero Arts and are called Flower Pops. The background paper is Two Scoops from Basic Grey and the ricrac is some I had in my stash. The scalloped circles are punched from Bazzill Bling and the gems are from Hero Arts and Mark Richards. Oh, the little Hello circle stamp is a clear stamp from Stampendous. It was fun to use these stamps, I hadn't used them in a long while!

I got a new Pottery Barn catalog in the mail yesterday with some fun things in it. I'm going to use some of the pages as inspiration for my cards. Lots of ideas are going around in my head :) So look for that in the near future.

Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge

Good afternoon! I know, I'm posting at the wrong time again, but it's Spring Break here and my routine is a little out of whack. :) But, it's love an unloved stamp challenge day and my card for today is simple but fun! I love red, it's probably my favorite color so when I was doing this black and white card I knew that red would be my accent color, it just really makes it pop!

I started with a plain white card base and used a cuttlebug embossing folder to do the embossing and then added some KI Memories patterned paper to the bottom. I used Brilliance black ink to ink the edges of the card as well as the tops of the embossed part (that part was really fun). The stamp I used is one of the $1 stamps at Michaels and I've had it for probably over a year. I know I've used it once, but I think that's all, so it needed some love! I stamped in Versafine Black ink and then colored the flower with prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits. A gem went in the center of the flower and then I rounded the corners of the sentiment piece and inked the edges in Colorbox chalk ink in warm red. The ribbon is from Michaels and it's one of the ones that came packaged on those clothes pins that they aren't selling anymore (or at least my stores haven't had them in a while). That's it!

If you love an unloved stamp, please put a link in the comments so we can see what you've done with your stamps.

Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge

Good Morning! It's Wednesday and it's Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge. It's still cold here although we are warming up a bit, but only temporarily :( So, I decided to use a stamp that makes me feel warm.

This stamp is part of a set from Hero Arts called Word Confetti. I used a really fun technique on this one. I stamped the image in VersaMark and then took chalk and the little pom poms and pounced the chalk onto the versamarked image. The more chalk you put on the darker it gets. It also darkens a little bit as it dries. I started with blue cardstock for my base and cut about 1/2" off the right hand side of the front of the card. I lined the inside of the right hand side with the striped patterned paper and then put the paisley on the front of the card. I think this paper is from Kaleidoscope, but I'm not certain. It's old though. I cut around my stamped image leaving a small white border and then attached it to the front of the card letting a little bit hang over the edge. Then I stapled a piece of ribbon to the image and that was it. Very easy, but a fun technique.

What unloved stamp are you going to love today? Be sure to leave a comment with a link to your creation so we can all take a look.

Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge

Good Morning! It's Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge day again. Don't you just love when something turns out even better than you thought it would? I have had this House-Mouse stamp for probably about 4 or 5 years and I have never used it. I love it, I just have been intimidated by it because 1) it's so big and 2) it's intricate so I was afraid my coloring techniques wouldn't do it justice. Well, I am here to tell you that this card was so much fun to make and turned out EXACTLY as I had planned, (that does not happen often at all for me :)

I stamped the mice in VersaFine sepia ink then used prismacolor pencils and minerals spirits to color in and shade. After all the coloring I used Spica glitter pen in yellow to give all the sunflower petals sparkle. I inked around the edge of the stamped image in pale blue and matted it onto brown DCWV cardstock so it has some texture, then stamped "sending you sunshine" which is a stamp from AMuse Artstamps (I LOVE their saying stamps), you can see them at www.amuseartstamps.com . I stamped that in the same versafine sepia ink and then attached the sunflower image to the patterned paper. I can't wait to make a few more of these as they were really fun to do and I feel like I've conquered part of my intimidation of big stamps :)

Find a stamp that you haven't loved lately and create something with it. Leave a comment on this post including a link so we can see your creation.

Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge

Good morning! Today is the day to love an unloved stamp! This doesn't mean use a stamp you don't like, it means use a stamp that you haven't used in a long time or that hasn't ever seen ink!

For my card, my unloved stamp is my Precious Moments Bunny. I think she's so cute and yet, I haven't used her in a very long time! The Happy Easter stamp is one a bought last year and used last year :) I also used some old Daisy D's paper so I loved on 2 different older things, is that extra points??? The patterned paper is stitched around the outside to replicate the stitching on the paper. Then I took my whale of a punch square and punched a window in the front of the card. I stamped the bunny and colored her with prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, then pop-dotted her into the window opening. It was still missing something so I punched another square with my whale of a punch square out of blue and then used my square scallop punch to create a frame for the window. When I opened the card the bunny was kind of just floating there so I created another frame for her and then added the little prima flowers. For the Happy Easter sentiment, I stamped and then embossed in white onto a label cut with quickutz. I added the ribbon and it was finished! I have realized that I use ribbon on almost every card I make, sometimes just a little piece, sometimes a big one, but apparently I love ribbon!

I really like this challenge. It makes me think of new things to do with some stamps that I probably wouldn't purchase now, because they aren't my style or for whatever reason. Give it a try and leave a comment with a link to your creation so we can all see what you've come up with.

Love an Unloved Stamp Day

Good Morning! I'm sure you're surprised, but it's cold here again today. Our temp right now is -10 degrees and our high is going to be 3. No snow in the forecast until Monday though - woo hoo!!

It's love an unloved stamp day today and I used 2 unloved stamps on this one. Have you ever purchased a stamp thinking it would be an easy stamp to use and one you would pick up often. Well, this flower stamp was that to me and it turns out I never pick it up to use it. I love it, I just don't ever come up with any good ideas to use with it. Both of these stamps are Inkadinkado. I scalloped the bottom of the front of my card with my corner rounder and then used one side of the reminisce paper for the top and the other darker side for the bottom to represent the grass. The flower gems are these cute and fun little flowers by Dress It Up. They add lots of bling :) I stamped the sentiment with Tsukineko Brilliance ink - peacock color which is a green, teal, and blue all on one pad and then matted that onto Bazzill Bling. Tied a little bow around the top and it was finished. Made me feel good to use these stamps. Give it a try. Love an Unloved Stamp and then leave a comment with a link so we can see what you do with your unloved stamps.

Love an Unloved Stamp Day

Good Evening! I'm so sorry that it took me this long to post this message. Too many things going on around me to get done what I really want to get done :)

Today's challenge is to love an unloved stamp. Again, this doesn't mean to use a stamp you don't like, it means to use a stamp you love, but just haven't used in a while or ever. In my case, it's that I've never used this stamp. I LOVE it, obviously or I wouldn't have bought it, but I just hadn't used it. It's a Penny Black stamp called Lace Flower. I used it with some Heidi Grace papers and Bazzill cardstock. I used my Making Memories slot punch to make the half circles that are holding the stamped image and then eyelets through those holding the ribbon. I used my Sakura stardust yellow glitter pen to fill in a little bit of the stamped flower to give it some shimmer. Oh, I did use my Heidi Swap distresser to distress both the striped paper and the patterned paper that's under the stamped image.

Now it's your turn, love an unloved stamp and leave a comment with a link to your creation!!

Love an Unloved Stamp Challenge

Good morning! I figured today is a GREAT day to start our new challenges. Today's is "Love an Unloved Stamp". This does not mean use a stamp you don't love :) It means dust off a stamp that has either never felt ink or one that you haven't used in a long time and use it! Some of my stamps I look at and still LOVE the images, but just haven't used much, sometimes not at all!!! The stamp I used today is one of those. I still love the image, I just have never used it. Since I'm cleaning out my scrapbooking room, I have most of my 'stuff' in tubs and boxes getting ready to paint the room, so I had very limited supplies to use, but it actually made it easier because I didn't have so many choices, so that may be a challenge sometime in the future too! I used some old ProvoCraft 8X8 slab paper, my hero arts stamp, my prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits (those have been left out of my packing and are easily accessible :), prima flowers, and Bella Baubles. You can also get Robin's Nest Dew Droplets in the embellishments section of www.allthatscraps.com. These things are soooo cool. Bella's Baubles are carried by www.stampingbella.com. Both places have great selections and colors! This was definitely a fun challenge and now I challenge you to use a stamp you haven't used in a long time. Leave a comment on this post and include a link so we can see what you created!!! Have fun!
