Pack a box, make a card :)

Hi!  Yes, this means I have been a bit productive.  I was going through 'stuff' and guess what I found.  This fun little heart confetti.  It really doesn't pack well, so I decided I just needed to use it!

I used older Imaginisce paper and Stampendous stamps on this card.  I cut out the heart shape from the pink panel and then cut a heart shape to fit from clear acrylic to make the window for the confetti.

Operation Write Home shippers list their 'current needs' on the Mailroom, shipping page and right now Sandy needs love, thanks and miss you cards.  My box is almost full so I will concentrate on finishing it with these needs.

Operation Write Home Sketch

Hi!  I hope everyone has moved into summer mode and is having a great time.  :)  It seems that my little family can't go too long without an adventure so we are beginning another one.  We are moving to Jackson, MS.  We have moved enough times to know that it is not a small undertaking, but I'm hoping we are up for the challenge.  The packing has begun somewhat, but the house is not on the market yet.  As usual, we were in the middle of some house projects when we made this decision, LOL.

So my stamping has now become sort of a reward for getting things checked off my to do list.  Plus I keep telling myself that the more stuff I use, the less I have to pack, you see my logic here right?  ;)

My card for today uses the Operation Write Home Sketch #178.  Have I told you lately how much I love sketches?  I used papers that were on my desk from other cards recently made as well as Hero Arts stamps.  The anchor is a set that has a die with it as well.  The bonus on this card is that I used eyelets!  Yes, real eyelets, I can't tell you the last time I used eyelets, so I was kind of proud of myself, LOL.

Okay, back to work for me, but thanks for stopping by and I hope to keep posting because that means I have been able to reward myself with some stamping time, which means that I have been  productive.  ;)

Sketches times 2

Hi!  The two cards I'm sharing today are both from sketches.
The first one uses the sketch from the SplitCoastStampers Sketch Challenge. I had scrap papers on my desk that were perfect for this sketch.  Then I remembered my star dies and combined the long border star die with the layered stars.  I love when things just start falling into place.  :)

The second card uses the CAS(e) this Sketch sketch #31.  I love this one because it uses a fun chipboard shape that I love but hadn't used yet, along with a Making Memories "thanks" rub-on that has been hanging out on my desk for quite some time.
Both of these cards are going into my Operation Write Home box.  It's getting full, so will be sent off soon.

Something to Begin With

Hi!  I love to create when I have something to begin with.  It can really be anything, a new stamp, new papers, a sketch, a recipe....really, anything.  :)  Today's cards began with one of the Card Kits from Archivers with Tim Holtz stamps and Basic Grey papers.

I love the bird paper used on the background of this card.  When I decided to use that paper, I also knew I needed a sweet little bird stamp, this one is from Imaginisce.
The second card uses one of the Tim Holtz birthday stamps. I really am having fun with these stamps.
Lots going on this weekend, life is certainly not boring is it?

Learning to Dance in the Rain

I love challenges.  Well, I guess I should be more specific, I love challenges that have to do with making cards. This card is for the SplitCoastStampers Sketch Challenge and the Operation Write Home Water challenge.  It's been a while since I've been able to participate in all these fun challenges and I don't know that I will be able to participate every day, but I am going to do my best.

Second day in a row that I've used a Tim Holtz stamp.  This sentiment is one of his from a Stampers Anonymous set.  The raindrops and the umbrella are from a Simon Says Stamp set.  I used to get their monthly card kits and I highly recommend the kits, I was just getting too far behind is using what I was getting so I took a break.  But you know how it goes, I saw the kit for this month and think it would be SO much fun!

Anyway, back to cleaning up my craft room, LOL.

Loving the Tim Holtz Stamps

Hi!  Two days in a row is a good thing!  I loved the look of the Tim Holtz blue print looking stamps, but wasn't sure I would use them enough to spend what they cost.  So a friend of mine had an extra couple sets of card kits from Archivers that included a small sampling of the Tim Holtz stamps.  I bought her extras and am very happy I did.  The kits include samples of what you can do.

Well I really liked the light bulb stamp.  They used it with a Thank You sentiment and that really didn't work for me....BUT....I have a set from Unity that includes lamps and sentiments that go along with them, so these are what I made.  I added some twine from American Crafts.  HomeGoods had a pkg of  it one day, I think about 10 different colors, you know on the way to the checkout counter, where they have all the "add-ons"  :)
I'm still working on my Operation Write Home box and definitely think these will work.

A new Sketch

Hi!!  It feels good to be posting again.  I have been creating a little bit, but haven't been able to post.   That work thing was getting in the way.  ;)

This card uses Operation Write Home's newest sketch, number 175.  The sketch actually uses 4 1" squares and my first attempt used embossed lines at the 1" mark, but I really thought it took away from the stamp, so I changed it.  My card puts the squares together for one big square, but I used a new Hero Arts, Operation Write Home stamp, so hopefully that counts ;). This stamp is part of the new Hero Arts Operation Write Home sets that are being sold at Hobby Lobby.  There are two sets available.

The papers and photo corners were from my stash, love that as well.
