Feeling Very Blessed!

I'm feeling very blessed this evening! I've been feeling kind of overwhelmed with everything going on, the holidays, my new online store, my husband's job search.... but today I'm feeling very, very blessed!!! My MIL went into the hospital yesterday morning thinking she had appendicitus. Well, it turned out she had a growth on her ovary. They scheduled surgery for today and in the meantime, my dh and daughter got in the car and drove down there. We got the news this afternoon that the growth is benign and she is all taken care of after this surgery. My great neice went into the hospital on Christmas Eve being tested for RSV. She was only 11 days old at the time. She was in the hospital with RSV for about 5 days. They were out of town from where they live then too. Today the are at their own home being greatful for what they've come through. My son received his score for the ACT he took. He won't let me broadcast his score, but it's a good one. We're so proud of him and are thankful that he may be getting some scholarship money for school too :) God is great!!

Thanks for reading my gratitudes for today, I appreciate you letting me share that with you.

Now onto the card. I got some new paper today. The one I used is Black Magic from Core'dinations. It's pretty cool. It's black on the surface, but color in the middle.

I used it to make the card base and then used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the swirls. Then I sanded the swirls so the purple would show through. I stamped the MyFavoriteThings lavender stamp with Memento ink and colored it with Copics. White highlights were made with my Inksentials white pen. I airbrushed some yellow onto the background and adhered it to Bazzill bling paper adding dew drops to the corners. I used the SCS Sketch #207 and added May Arts ribbon to the sides. This paper is pretty cool and I love my airbrush system :)

Remember October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Good afternoon! I know I'm late again :) October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I wanted to make a card reminding everyone to get their Mammogram if they haven't done so this year. I've already been squished this year, have you? :)

This is a great stamp set from My Favorite Things, called "Think Pink". I stamped, colored with Copics, and paper pieced with this set! I used some old dp I had from All MY Memories and chalked the edges with chestnut roan chalk ink. I used my nestabilities scallops to cut the Bazzill Bling layer and then added pink hero arts gems to the scallops. The pink ribbon heart is stamped on the back side of one of the dp's and then colored with a twinklette glitter pen and inked and doodled :) I also added ribbon from American Crafts.

This is such a worthy cause to support, please take a moment to click here to go to the site where you can click to help fund mammograms for underpriviledged women. You can click once a day!

Coffee anyone?

Good Morning!! I'm writing this as I drink my coffee....how about you?

Well you know the ice cream cards that I made with the McDonald's gift cards in them for my grandsons? Well, they got them and immediately used them :) But their Mom jokingly said, "Where's mine?" So, of course that got me to thinking about this cute little coffee set I have from My Favorite Things, so my step-daughters both are getting coffee cards with Starbucks gift cards in them. I loved making these. I also love to make cards for them because they like colors that aren't always colors that I would choose, they like more muted colors so it's fun to make cards that I think reflect their personalities. Anyway, deets about this card: cardstock base is from prism, polka dotted paper is from Basic Grey the Archaic line, the MFT set is "Hot Stuff" the sentiment is from Hero Arts Sparkly Clear "Coffee" set, the ribbon is from Martha Stewart. I colored the images with Copic markers and used some stardust glitter pen too.
